Gartloch was a beautiful Victorian general hospital, built in 1889 – it closed in 1996, and parts have now been redeveloped into the usual soulless executive village. Some bits are still untouched – the development has stalled.

However, there’s one jewel in the crown – the main hall, which is, though decaying rapidly, still stunning:
Wow this building clearly is/was very beautiful what a disgrace it has been left to decay.

My late Father was the Group Engineer and we stayed in Gartloch. I remember seeing the Hall when it was still a Hospital. The place was beautiful.
